The Oklahoman ran an editorial cartoon by Chip Bok of Creators Syndicate. Remember, this was the guy that left the Akron Beacon Journal after the conclusion to last year’s Presidential election.  Apparently his right wing bashing of Obama backfired and left him on the “buyout” table.  Given his latest cartoon in the Oklahoman, he’s gone from right wing to racist.

Bok’s cartoon depicts Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor hanging from a tree.  Presumably, like a piñata. Below her, President Obama is shown wearing a sombrero and is asking GOP members of Congress [ready, with sticks and all], “Now, who wants to be first?”

When I first glanced at this cartoon, I actually took the hanging as a lynching.  I had to take a second look.  Then, I laughed.  Not because I find the cartoon at all funny, but because Bok is an idiot!  Not only is this cartoon sexist AND racist, it’s just plain old stupid.  Let me ask you this, Bok, “Since when do people of Puerto Rican descent celebrate with piñatas and wear Sombreros?” Jeez, Bok!  If you’re gonna be a bigot, at least check your facts and do it right!
